How to Check RTO Number Online

Checking your RTO number online is a straightforward process that allows vehicle owners to access important information about their vehicle’s registration status.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the online process efficiently.

Step 1: Visit the Official Vahan Portal

To begin, navigate to the official Vahan portal by typing parivahan.gov.in in your web browser.

This is the primary platform for vehicle registration services in India.

Step 2: Select the “Services” Tab

Once you are on the Vahan homepage, look for the “Services” tab.

Click on it to explore various vehicle-related services, including RTO number checks.

Step 3: Choose “Know Your Vehicle Details”

From the dropdown menu under the “Services” tab, select the option labeled “Know Your Vehicle Details.”

This section allows you to access information related to your vehicle’s registration.

Step 4: Enter Required Details

You will be directed to a new page where you need to enter specific information:

  • Vehicle Registration Number:
    • Input the registration number of your vehicle.
  • State:
    • Select the state where your vehicle is registered.

Make sure to double-check the information for accuracy before proceeding.

Step 5: Click on “Search”

After entering the required details, click the “Search” button.

The system will process your request and retrieve the relevant information associated with your vehicle.

Step 6: View Your RTO Number and Details

Once the search is complete, your vehicle details will be displayed on the screen.

This will include the RTO number, vehicle registration status, owner’s name, and other pertinent information.

Step 7: Save or Print the Information

If you need a physical copy or want to keep a record, you can print the page or save it as a PDF for future reference.
