2. Main Step-by-Step Instructions

A. Issuance of New Driving License

1. Register on the Vahan Portal: Visit the official Vahan website at Vahan. Click on “Register” and enter your personal details to create an account.
2. Apply for a Driving License: Log in to your account and select “Apply for a Driving License”. Complete the online application form with your personal details and choose the type of license you need.
3. Upload Documents: Upload the required documents, such as proof of identity, address proof, and a passport-sized photograph.
4. Schedule a Driving Test: Book an appointment for a driving test at your nearest Regional Transport Office (RTO) through the portal.
5. Attend the Driving Test: Go to the designated RTO on the scheduled date and pass the driving test.
6. Receive Your License: After successfully completing the test and verification, your driving license will be issued and mailed to your address.

B. Renewal of Driving License

1. Login to the Vahan Portal: Access your account on Vahan.
2. Select “Renew Driving License”: Choose this option from the list of services.
3. Fill Out the Application Form: Provide details about your current license and upload any required documents.
4. Pay Renewal Fees: Make the necessary payment online.
5. Submit the Application: Review and submit your application.
6. Receive Updated License: Once processed, your renewed license will be sent to your address or available for pickup.

C. Duplicate Driving License

1. Access Vahan Portal: Log in to your account.
2. Choose “Apply for Duplicate License”: This option will allow you to request a replacement for a lost or damaged license.
3. Provide Details: Fill out the application form with details of your lost or damaged license.
4. Upload Documents: Submit any required documents, including a police report if the license was stolen.
5. Pay Fees: Complete the payment process online.
6. Receive Duplicate License: The duplicate will be sent to your registered address.

D. Address Change in Driving License

1. Login to Vahan Portal: Access your account.
2. Select “Change Address in Driving License”: Choose this option.
3. Enter New Address: Update your address details and upload proof of the new address.
4. Submit Application: Review and submit the request.
5. Receive Updated License: The revised license with your new address will be mailed to you.

E. International Driving Permit (IDP)

1. Access Vahan Portal: Log in to your account on Vahan.
2. Select “Apply for International Driving Permit”: Choose this service.
3. Complete the Form: Fill out the application with details from your current driving license.
4. Upload Required Documents: Include your current driving license, passport, visa (if applicable), and a recent photograph.
5. Pay Fees: Complete the payment for the IDP.
6. Receive IDP: Your permit will be issued and sent to your address.
