How to pay Vahan tax online

Step 1: Visit the Official Vahan Website

  1. Open your preferred web browser.
  2. Type the official Vahan website URL into the address bar: Vahan Parivahan Portal.
  3. Press Enter to access the site.

Step 2: Navigate to the Online Payment Section

  1. On the homepage, locate the “Online Services” or “Services” tab in the menu bar.
  2. Click on it to reveal a dropdown menu.
  3. From the dropdown, select “Payment of Tax” or “Pay Vahan Tax”.

Step 3: Choose Your State

  2. Choose the state in which your vehicle is registered from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Enter Vehicle Details

  1. After selecting your state, you will be asked to provide your vehicle details.
  2. Fill in the required information:
    • Registration Number: Enter your vehicle’s registration number (ensure it’s accurate).
    • Chassis Number: You may be required to enter the chassis number as well.
    • Engine Number: Provide the engine number if prompted.
  3. Complete any captcha verification as instructed.

Step 5: Submit Your Information

  1. Once you have filled in the required details, click on the “Submit” button.
  2. The system will retrieve your vehicle’s information and display the tax amount due.

Step 6: Review Tax Details

  1. Review the displayed tax amount along with any additional fees or penalties, if applicable.
  2. Ensure that all information is correct before proceeding.

Step 7: Make the Payment

  1. Click on the “Pay Now” button to proceed to the payment gateway.
  2. You will be redirected to a secure payment page.
  3. Choose your preferred payment method (options may include credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI).

Step 8: Complete the Payment

  1. Enter the required payment information based on your chosen payment method.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment process.
  3. After successful payment, you will receive a confirmation receipt.

Step 9: Save the Payment Receipt

  1. Download or print the payment receipt for your records.
