How to pay Challan online

Paying your challan online is a simple and convenient process, allowing you to settle traffic fines without visiting a physical location.

Follow the steps below to make your payment quickly and easily.

Step 1: Gather Required Information

Before starting the payment process, ensure you have the following information ready:

  • Your challan number (found on your E-Challan).
  • Your vehicle registration number.
  • A valid payment method (credit/debit card, net banking, or mobile wallet).

Step 2: Visit the Official Website

Go to the official website for paying traffic challans.

You can use one of the following platforms:

  • Ministry of Road Transport and Highways:
  • State Transport Department:
    • Each state may have its dedicated portal for online payment. Check the official state traffic police or transport department website.

Step 3: Navigate to the Challan Payment Section

Once you are on the website, look for the E-Challan or Challan Payment section.

This can typically be found under headings such as Online Services, Traffic Services, or Citizen Services.

Step 4: Select the Payment Option

Click on the option that says Pay Challan Online or Pay E-Challan.

This will direct you to the payment portal.

Step 5: Enter Your Challan Details

You will be prompted to enter specific details related to your challan:

  • Challan Number:
    • Input your unique challan number.
  • Vehicle Registration Number:
    • Enter your vehicle number as per the registration.
  • Date of Birth:

Step 8: Choose Your Payment Method

Select your preferred payment method from the options provided, which may include:

Step 9: Complete the Payment
