2. Main Step-by-Step Instructions

A. Renewing a Driving License

  1. Register on the Vahan Portal: Visit the official Vahan website at Vahan. Create an account if you don’t already have one by clicking on “Register”.
  2. Log In and Apply: Log in to your account and select “Renew Driving License” from the available services.
  3. Fill Out the Renewal Form: Provide details about your existing driving license and personal information. Ensure that all details are accurate and up-to-date.
  4. Upload Required Documents: You will need to upload:
    • A copy of your current driving license.
    • Proof of identity and address (such as Aadhaar card, passport, or utility bill).
    • A recent passport-sized photograph.
  5. Pay Renewal Fees: Complete the payment process online for the renewal application.
  6. Submit Your Application: Review all information and submit the application.
  7. Attend the RTO (if required): Depending on your state, you may need to visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for a vision test or additional verification.
  8. Receive Your Renewed Driving License: Once processed, your renewed license will be sent to your registered address or can be picked up from the RTO, depending on the procedure.

B. Applying for a Duplicate Driving License

  4. Upload Required Documents: Include documents such as a copy of your driving license (if available) and a police report if the license was stolen.
  5. Pay Fees: Complete the payment for the duplicate license application.
  6. Submit Application: Review and finalize your application.
  7. Receive Duplicate License: The duplicate license will be sent to your address.

C. Address Change in Driving License

  1. Log In to Vahan Portal: Access your account on Vahan.
  2. Select “Change Address in Driving License”: Choose this option from the list of services.
  3. Update Address Information: Enter your new address details and upload proof of the new address.
  4. Pay Fees: Complete the payment process if required.
  5. Submit Application: Review and submit your address change request.
  6. Receive Updated License: Your updated driving license with the new address will be sent to your registered address.
